Eco-tours to Brazil

Once a year or so, I lead eco-tours to Brazil as fund raisers for Audubon North Carolina, Carolina Raptor Center, and Catawba Lands Conservancy.

(The bird here is a stunning Harpy Eagle seen from our boat on the 2004 Rio Negro trip.)

The next planned trip will from 4-13 June 2005, pretty much retracing the route we followed in 2003. (Click here to see the 2005 itinerary) We will visit the Amazon rainforest, the huge freshwater wetland known as the Pantanal. In 2003 we did this trip, with an additional stop in the Atlantic Forests of Brazil, and saw 415 species of birds--that's about 4% of the total number of bird species on the planet! (Read the collective journal describing this tripPlease email me if you're interested in taking the trip.
